Прилагательное исторический переводится английскими historic и historical. Historic употребляется главным образом в значении 'ассоциируемый с историческим прошлым' или 'имеющий важное историческое значение': историческое место – historic place, историческая речь – historic speech, историческое здание – historic building. Historical означает 'имеющий дело с подлинными историческими фактами': исторический роман – historical novel, историческое свидетельство – historical evidence.
